Can someone recommend a good Stephen king book?

Started reading Carrie and I already love it after reading the first few pages.

Can anyone recommend a good Stephen king book. I’ve read some of IT but couldn’t take to it.

Is Cujo or Cycle of the Werewolf any good seen some of the Cojo movie so I know it’s about a big dog. If not Stephen king are there any other good horror authors that are similar to Stephen King

The Dark Towers series is my absolute favorite read of Stephen King. It's just my opinion, but never watch a movie based on a Stephen King's novel if you have already read the book; it simply will not measure up.

Loved the first two, after that not so much. Hated the last one to death.

surprised by people recommending the tommyknockers. that one is unbearable to me.

but, the Stand, the shining, Salem's lot, duma key, and needful things were all good reads imo.

    The Stand

    The Shining

    Needful Things

    Salem's Lot

    Pet Semetary

    The Dead Zone

    The Tommyknockers

    Misery

His short stories like Apt Pupil are good reads as well.

For me The Stand, The Shining and Salem's Lot are my favorites.

I found the ending of It to be very disappointing.

I haven't read a lot of his work, but he's my dad's favorite author. He really likes Insomnia, Pet Sematary, IT (of course), Cell, Bag of Bones, The Tommyknockers, and The Shining.

    Hope this helps!

Firestarter is similar to Carrie in many ways. They're from the same period and have similar themes. You might also like The Dead Zone and The Shining.
