The unwillingness to be humble, in other words, a lack of humility. The pursuit of power is not humble. A humble person doesn't satisfy a greedy need. And in matters of misconception or miscommunication only those that lack humility refuse to admit fault or back down.

A short answer would be religion since most major wars over the time of history were over differences in belief or the dehumanization of a religion or group of people who consist of mainly one religion, today it gets much more complicated with how advanced we are, but religion is still a playing role in many of the wars occuring even now, but are considered rather small due to them usually occuring in lesser known and smaller countries.
