Do you believe our liberty comes with inherent expectations of personal responsibility and self governance?

Or can liberty exist without expectations of self governance and personal responsibility? Can liberty exist when one group of people demand a government confiscate and redistribute the labor and wealth of another group of people?

without a higher morality and consideration for your fellow man liberty is necessarily eroded .. creating a giant govt to police everybody is what it will come to ...

That is exactly what John Adams meant when he stated "Our Constitution was made for a religious and moral people, it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Yes, and living in a society comes with inherent expectations of social responsibility.

Ever been to Canada? Life there isn't perfect either, but they have a lot more social responsibility than American conservatives. And if you think Canada's government is "tyrannical" then I don't know what to tell you.

Personal liberty is good! (And necessary.) It also requires balance.
