What is a modded controller and the difference between modded controller and the one that isn't modded?

A modded controller can do things that a normal one can't.
For example if you want to repeatedly shoot or punch in a game, you might have to repeatedly press a button. A modded controller could simply let you hold the button down, to repeatedly perform the action as fast as possible with no delay in between. Or it could allow the recording of macros; a single button press could perform a series of moves. Imagine in a fighting game, you could program a single button to execute a special move that normally requires a sequence of fast, precise, manual button presses.
