Calculate the amount of heat which must be removed from 400 kg fish.....?

Calculate the amount of heat which must be removed from 400 kg fish, if it enters a freezer room at 15 degrees *c and is pulled down to -18 deg Celsius.

Must show all working.

Fomula:

Q=mc^t

Q=mL

Specific heat of fish above freezing = 1.95 kJ/kgk

Specific heat of fish below freezing = 1.10 kJ/kgk

Latent heat- 110 kJ/kg

    Energy E = 0.400*(1.950*15+1.100*18+110) = 63.620 Mjoule

    3 calculations assuming you treat the fish as an equivalent mass of water.

    cool the fish to freezing, Q = mass * specific heat * temperature change from 15C to 0C

    freeze the fish, Q = mass * latent heat

    cool the fish from freezing to -18C, Q = mass * specific heat * temperature change from 0C to -18C

    Add up the 3 numbers.
