why do cats hunt when they get well fed by their owners.?

    For fun - it is instinctive.

    Cats are only half domesticated - they just stay juvenile for their whole lives, and for this reason they like to be dependent on humans.

    Cats rarely eat their kills if domesticated. They tend to hunt either for fun or to give a gift to their owners.

    Source(s): My cat often leaves shrews on my patio as "gifts". Smart cat, since shrews have venom.
