We've had ten cats over the years--none have liked bananas. In fact, whenever we offered them any banana (or showed them the peel), they'd sniff it, recoil and walk away. I suspect there's something in bananas that cats (generally speaking) don't like.
At any rate, cats don't need banana. Cats are obligate carnivores--they do not eat fruit. Although there are some fruits (like cranberry) that is added to some commercially-processed cat foods, it is in minute amounts like for their urinary tract health, etc.
