would my ECM be the cause of my camaro not starting? the battery is new?

    You need to provide more info. Do you hear it crank, hear only a click or hear nothing? Look at your battery cables too. Invest in a multimeter and look for an electrical schematic for your car on line.

    Hopefully you can remove a spark plug. If it's dry with no smell of gas, no fuel may be the problem, if the plug is wet, there may be no spark.

    The engine control module is one possibility, yes.

    But there are many other possible causes as well...

    It could be yes but it could also be the anti theft system. Sometimes it won’t allow you to start the vehicle

    That is one of many possibilities. Choosing guessing over diagnosing gets expensive. Could be out of gas or other simple things. Hard to figure out from here with no clues except new battery. You got spark. You got fuel. You got the right key.

    Maybe the car is just so ashamed of being a white-trash car that it is just too depressed to start.
