Can a business tap into your home computer?

I work for a company that periodically monitors people on their computers at the office. However, I sometimes wonder if they are watching when we are at home on our personal computers and our own internet service. Can that be done or does a judge have to order this?

AFAIK they can only monitor usage of things they provide. If you have a work laptop you take home they may be able to monitor usage on that, if you use a personal PC to log in to a work network they may monitor that access.

If logging in to your work network requires using VPN software they may be able to monitor other usage while connected to the work VPN as that traffic goes over their vpn, not sure if they should but they could probably monitor other usage in that case.

Not unless you install malware or spyware.
