There's a high possibility of a second Scottish independence referendum if the UK leaves the EU without a deal; Scotland voted Remain.

Currently, polls show that a referendum would be successful. It's probable that Scotland would look to rejoin the EU

No, the referendum was a once in a lifetime vote...whatever Krankie says.

Hopefully. We should seize the chance to get rid of the Scots.

If they have a referendum and they do leave what then? the EU is not going to OPEN THEIR ARMS, oh no. What happens in the mean time? Can Scotland survive in the 21st century without Britain?.-(

If they meet the Copenhagen criteria the UK will open its arms, and they do.

Highly unlikely. Ties within UK are too complex to sever.

You appear to have failed to understand the question. The question presumes Brexit will go ahead and ask whether a consequence of that will be Scotland leaving the UK in order to apply to rejoin the EU. That is very probably to be a consequence.

Scotland will leave the EU with us at the end of October. They may subsequently vote to leave the Union. if they do leave they will then have to apply to join the EU as an individual country. It is not a done deal as Turkey wants to join the EU but has not been admitted. Of course there will be issues regarding the border with Scotland and the UK so it would be an interesting situation.

They might not want another net recipient, but the Copenhagen criteria don't require applicants to join the EU to be net contributors.
