Does a gaming laptop really need a dual hybrid drive OR is just 1 big ssd good enough?

    hybrids are just cheaper.

    you should buy a laptop that has 2 drives. 1 SSD for Windows, and 1 HDD for games/storage.

    A hybrid drive gives you generally just enough SSD storage to act as a speedup for the larger, cheaper, slower mechanical drive behind it. If you can afford a big SSD go right ahead, it'll treat every read and write the same.

    Prices of SSDs are falling now, if it is affordable just get 1 SSD of 1TB
