Why did God say "Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all—old and young, girls and women and little children"? What kind of god is this?

It was your god, Satan, who instigated that evil rebellion, so, if at that time, you were there, they would have cut off your head, and after playing the ball, they would have given it to a pack of dogs!
As you can see, I answered without your Burka!

The Bible account of Herod’s slaughter of all the boys two years of age and under in Bethlehem and its districts is in harmony with the other historical accounts of Herod and his wicked disposition. This occurred not long before Herod’s death, for Jesus escaped by being taken down into Egypt by his parents, but they returned and settled in Galilee after Herod died. These two events were foretold by Jehovah through his prophets Jeremiah and Hosea.Source(s): jw.org

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.” ― Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

The Abrahamic god kind... 1 Samuel 15:3 “Go and attack the Amalekites! Destroy them and all their possessions. Don’t have any pity. Kill their men, women, children, and even their babies. Slaughter their cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.”

What verse are you talking about? Because you just wrote something. Show the verse. There were places in the Bible that the Lord had Israel destroy those societies that were so corrupt with child sacrifices and other evils, that He put them out of their misery, and prevented those societies from rising again.

One who was tired of giving warnings while they worshiped false gods among many other things. Those people in Ezekiel were warned, educated and perfectly able to avoid that fate. They chose not to.

All gods ever created are but a reflection of the society they are worshiped in.
