Why would God allow adversaries or a competitor to exist in his creation?

The devil, and his armies, according to the Bible, are in a constant rebellion against God and his creations.

So his children can have a real choice. We mature much more rapidly when we are actively enticed to both good and evil.

Evil is nothing more than a privation of good. God allows it in order to create a greater good.

Angels rebelled, demons rebelling, people in hell rebelled, atheists and agnostics rebelling, members of competitors religions rebelling....

....against god. That’s a lot of rebelling. Why all the rebelling?

Because it would not be possible to choose Him if it was not also possible to choose to reject Him.

12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come" (Romans 12:14).

    Choice.

Would it be real love if you married someone who you had somehow forced to love you?

Without the adversary, mankind wouldn't have considered the choice.

The woman would have simply obeyed.

Because of the lie, she chose to disbelieve God.

Not believing what God says is slander and treason.

God cannot lie. So not believing Him means you are calling Him a liar. This is automatic slander - a false accusation against your Maker.

Without Satan's influence, people would not consider the choice... it would have been like a forced marriage.

The fallen angels had choice too. They HAD paradise and chose to rebel.

We are born into a fallen world... and we have the choice to leave it by repenting and choosing to make the LORD our God.

It is this reversal that is key to understanding the why behind the plan: because we have been exposed to evil, once redeemed and made perfect in paradise, we will still exercise our choice and never rebel again.

The angels who rebelled never knew what evil would come as a result... and they have no way to repent... because there is no sacrifice for them. They were spiritual beings without bodies given to death: they were eternal from the start.

Ultimately God hasn't allowed adversaries or competitors to exist in his creation, especially considering their end. The fact that these adversaries and competitors feed off the sins of mankind reveals a mystery that few Understand.

    only for some more years

    The Judgment of Satan

7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Serving God is a binary choice: You are either with him or against him.
