Has anyone ever noticed that the actors who potray cops on TV and/or in movies, are actual cops in real life?

No. They are actors. They just pretend to be cops on TV. That's how TV works

I haven't because they are not. Only actors. No more than Alan Alda is a "surgeon".
They often have real cop consultants or May have non-credited extras that are off duty cops.
Since when are Jack Lord, Robert Stack, Dennis Franz, Max Gail, Don Johnson, Andy Griffith , or Clint Eastwood; Cops?

That’s even true lol. The whole point of acting is portraying a character. It’s acting for a reason. Maybe some retired cops are actors but not an employed cop no. They have a job and need to be on the clock.

The actors who play cops on TV, are NOT cops in real life.

Nope, not at all, but I've noticed women who play women are actually really women in real life.

Actually, most TV actors are NOT cops in real life, but if the producer and director of the show want it to be realistic, they have REAL cops behind the scenes as advisors.

Donny Wahlberg does a great job on Blue Bloods

No, I haven't, because they aren't.

That's simply not true.
While TV and movies routinely hire an experienced cop as a consultant, and while those consultants occasionally appear on-camera, the people playing all the other cops with speaking roles are actors.
There are a few actors who used to be cops. Dennis Farina, David Zayas, and Joseph Kosala come to mind.
Plenty of actors become typecast, playing one cop after another. Dennis Franz, anyone?
