My 125cc scooter makes a buzzing noise when I turn the key to ON?

I bought a 2019 Lexmoto Enigma 125cc Scooter yesterday. It has 725 miles on the clock. It starts fine, runs fine, but, when I turn the key to the ON position, it makes a buzzing noise for about half a second. Any idea what this could be, please?

Normal, if it has a fuel pump. Many carbed vehicles have an electric pump, too.

Check your manual. Mine says, normal to hear that buzz a few seconds, then off, when switching on ignition .Also says to take to Dealer if it Doesn't stop or you Don't hear it.

Think of it as the purr of your kitten--lets you know all is OK.

    Your scooter is saying G'Day!

Or it may just be the electric fuel pump priming the line.

Is it fuel injected? That's the fuel pump.

Dan: Goldwings got electric fuel pumps with 1200 models, maybe 1100s 1981(?). Older models had fuel pump driven by engine- right side head/cam and there is no Ethanol certified replacements I know for that unit- I tried to find one.
