Is an autoimmune disease a common thing that could happen to anyone?

      Apparently more than 7% of the US population has an autoimmune disease, so fairly common.

    It depends on the disease, disorder, or syndrome. To my knowledge, most of them are rare with less than 57 cases per 100,000 population.
