Do veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD get government benefits? Is it racket?

I listen to a lot of talk radio (various formats), and the radio advertising is inundated with PTSD commercials. Which suggests to me the people who manage this bureaucracy are trolling for customers. I am an army veteran. I honestly have no respect for this PTSD bull crap.

If someone has a diagnosis of PTSD and it meets the VA's criteria, then yes, that veteran could get a disability rating and the appropriate amount of money associated with that rating.

I doubt that is the case. I've never really heard of anyone being completely 'cured' of PTSD, and the VA usually doesn't bother revoking a disability rating.
