only have 3 shocks on escape is it ok to drive back passager shock broke?

    No. The spring will break if the shock is bad.

    NO get it replaced. Shocks keep the tires on the rode. Springs support the weight.

    Your tire will be bouncing all over the place and you will loose traction or cause an accident.

    The only time you would have a problem is driving fast on very bumpy or washboard roads. The tire could start to bounce losing contact with the road intermittently. This may allow the rear of the car to lose grip and slide out sideways. Normal driving on pavement shouldn't be a problem. There is a safety issue in certain conditions and it should be fixed as soon as possible.

    No. If you get into a bad situation on the road and have to make an emergency maneuver or panic brake, the car will go out of control.
