is it possible for the UK to abolish the Royal throne. Why is it Necessary to have a Royal family?

It is possible. However, it would be a mistake.
The Queen, as head of state, is also the head of parliament, head of the judiciary, head of the armed services and head of the church of England.
Remove the Queen(King) who is going to enact the laws constructed by partliament.
Who is going to stop the armed services going on to the street.
Who is going to stop the judiciary giving biased decisions.
Who is going to stop the church of England trying to run the country.
The Queen (King) is a dictator!!! She(He) makes the laws of the land. Parliament only gives its advice and consent. Then the bill becomes an act of parliament when it is given the Royal Assent.
She(He) stops the armed services going on the street . Thereby allowing martial law (military junta). Out of control soldiers kicking in front doors. ravishing the women.!!!! NO!!!!
She(He) stops the judiciary from giving 'Biased' decisions!!! (Kangaroo courts).
The Queen (King) does not do anything. It is what she(he prevents others from doing.
I suggest you read Walter Bagehot, the great Victorian constitutionalist, who delineted the monarchs rights and obligations towards the country.
We do not have a written constitution in England. Our governement has come down from centuries of practice and precedent and occasional law making.
We have been a 'Republic' It was called the 'Commonwealth'.
As a result we had a 'President'. He was called the Lord Protector (Oliver Cromwell).
After 12 years of Cromwell's puritianism, the country had had enough and restored the King (King Charles(II)), other wise known as the Merry Monarch because he enjoyed life and wanted his country to also enjoy life.
So we keep the Queen(King)!!!!!

Of course it’s possible. Of course the monarchy is not necessary. Of course it has not been done because they don’t choose to do it.

Not without a civil war. Hereditary peers in the House of Lords would not vote in favour of a bill which would abolish their political roles, nor would the monarch of the UK give Royal Assent to an act of parliament which would abolish his Her her constitutional role.
The constitutions of the other Commonwealth Realms is a different thing though since the Governor Generals can give royal assent which alters their role in such a way that it abolished the monarchy.

Yes, it is possible and it ISN'T necessary to have a Royal Family. That they are there at all, is because the vast majority still want it to be. I am a royalist but, sometimes it gets difficult trying to justify it.

If the majority of citizens wished to vote out the monarchy,it is possible, but this is not the case. Most British citizens prefer the constitutional monarchy and it is a small minority who wish for a republican government.
Britain tried a republic under Cromwell and it did not work out well.
Britain's preferred government is the constitutional monarchy which requites royalty.

Yes it's possible to abolish the Royal family and it's not necessary to have them as they have no powers. It may happen sooner than people think.

Why should we want to abolish the throne which incidentally is not called the royal throne. As without it we would have to put up with an elected president which we don't want.

Traditions are extremely difficult to eliminate in most societies.
