Sholud boat anchors be made of balsa wood, so they're lighter?

    Yes,but you will have to paint them black or it won't fool anybody.

    Then when it was time for anchors away you could just throw them in the trash.

    That would defeat the point of an anchor now wouldn't it.

    Also, wood would eventually decay and disintegrate and otherwise get damaged or even break if it gets snagged on something.
