Do you think Mayor Pete is right?

Pete Buttigieg: "If we adopt a platform that's way out to the left, [Republicans are] going to say we're socialists. If we adopt a more moderate or conservative platform, they're going to say we're socialists. So we might as well just do what we think is right."

He is indeed. The Reps will pretend that anyone left of Attila the Hun is a godless commie marxist, so there's no point being cowed by their rhetoric.

Pete is a bullshitter. There is no "conservative" anything about these candidates. They are far left wing, some are communists.

    Pete is FOS!

In other words, Mayor Pete is saying, "Democrats are now the Socialist Party.

We may as well admit it and go from there".

Intelligent people work-out what Pete said for themselves, less intelligent people believe the media.

What he's saying is no matter what the Democratic platform is, the GOP is going to use the exact same rhetoric to counter it

He has mastered the art of circular logic, in my opinion.
