It is a contract with Satan.

In school we learned that someone who has a red dot of their head is a warrior caste member, the black is for the laborer caste, and the white is for the priestly caste. Someone who has no dot is a pariah or outcast and is deemed untouchable by society. The pariah caste is the lowest possible caste in Hinduism.

It's most commonly called a bindi and Indians will claim it's merely a decoration but that is not entirely honest. It is also a not-so-subtle reminder of higher caste status.

Sure that's what they all say
