It can be risky, People in cars tend to not see you.

They SEE you. Many are distracted. The lame excuse: "I didn't see him" is no longer valid in court. Anyone who can Truthfully say they did not see a 900 # bright red machine with Loud exhausts and two aboard her, needs a dog and white cane...

It is relatively safe if there is no one else on the road. Unfortunately we have to share the road with distracted automobile drivers so wear proper protective clothing and drive defensively. Riding out in the country is safer.

Like pretty much everything else in life, it involves a degree of risk.

But ultimately how safe it is depends on the operator of the motorcycle.

Mostly. Not all. A neighbor was hit by drunk who crossed line, no way to avoid. He won $2.3 M but most went to lawyer and hospital.

Sure.. obviously more hazards so ride defensively. Be aware of people trying to kill you from every angle and ride so you can stop in that distance.

No, but it's safe to RIDE one if you take proper precautions and are aware of the traffic especially at junctions. Never assume you have the right of way even if the traffic lights say go.... and always wear protective clothing and gloves.

Just because you have right of way legally doesn't mean you have it in practice. As for physics, the car will stop you in your tracks and you'll be heading to hospital if you're very lucky.

    Yes

    No

    Take your choice.

I have ridden in London on virtually every working day and to many social and non-commuting occasions for the last 40 years.

I have had accidents in that time, the most serious have not involved more than a few stitches and a few hours in hospitals.

It's not safe anywhere. Neither is bathing.

Motorcycles can be dangerous anywhere. You do not have an accident , you have a fatality. Keep that in mind , dress properly , and you should be OK. Assume every other vehicle does not see you, so you have to avoid them. Obviously many people ride lots in the city, but when there is an accident it is usually a bad one.
