What type of shoes and clothes do I pack for Ireland?

I will be travelling to Ireland in a month and will be spending a few nights in Dublin, Kilkenny and several other smaller cities. The nights that I am in Dublin will fall on Friday and Saturday, and I was planning on going out to a few pubs. What should I bring to wear?

Most pubs are fine with patrons wearing jeans and t-shirts.

Ireland, in general, tends to be windy, cloudy, damp, rainy. Year round. If you get cold easily, take this into account when packing.

This site gives you general weather information (NOT real-time) for anywhere in the world, by month .. including Ireland.

    http://www.weatherbase.com/

This site gives you local weather forecasts:

If Dublin is not your focal interest, just google "Weather forecast xxxxx" (adding the name of the city).

And THIS website is a live webcam of a busy street in Dublin .. so you can see the time and temperature at the bottom, and can look at what the people there are choosing to wear:

Wear whatever shoes you like on pathways or city walks. But be prepared: any time you step off of a path or walkway you should expect mud, so your shoes should be easily cleanable. You'll thank me for the warning.
