I'm doing an English project and I can't think of a good word for this. Please help?

What would you call someone who is good at talking themselves out of trouble just being them

    This can be called, "the gift of the gap", someone who can smoothly lie for their own benefit might be called silver-tongued.

    I would call them clever, but I recommend you use a thesaurus to find the word that most closely matches with what you're trying to convey.
