During the Republic, women had rights. She'd likely join a religious group or get a job, just like other poor women in the city. Women worked in shops and in food preparation, as well as more white collar types of positions, depending upon her ability to read and write.

She becomes a snake charmer and dances her way into the affections of a senator who keeps her in unaccustomed style in a small apartment on the Aventine. She keeps the snake to keep the local rodents at bay. At the age of 44 while cooking her evening meal a coal falls from the cooking pit and sets afire which kills her and seven others in the isola. The senator takes another mistress a 24 year old, but suffers a stroke during a vigorous bout with her from which he does not recover, but the effects of the stroke made it appear he died with a smile on his face. The 24 year old married a local baker and had six children.
And that is what would happen.
