Is it true that twins tend to be born to women who are aged 35 and older?

    Older women are more likely to give birth to fraternal twins, because older women are more likely to have hyperovulation. There is no significant association with maternal age and identical twinning, though it is slightly more likely to happen with couples who have received fertility treatments, particularly if their embryos were biopsied for genetic screening. The cause for the slight increase is not currently known.

    It's true that woman who are older have twins but there are times when someone as young as 17 had twins.. It's just more common in older woman.
