I am a 31 year old man who is a citizen of the United States, can I join the Australian military (I heard they accept foreigners)?

    You would lose your US citizenship if you did.

    In Wiburg vs USA the Supreme Court ruled that serving in a foreign military is not an automatic loss of US citizenship

    If the US citizen goes to the other country that is OK, if he was recruited on US soil that is illegal.

    If the country he goes to is at war with the US then you lose citizenship

    Remember before the US got involved in WW2 many US citizen joined Canadian and British militaries.
