Is Tijuana Mexico a dangerous city?

Would taking a trip to Tijuana Mexico be dangerous for U.S. citizens whether white, Hispanic or African-American to take a trip down to visit be any more dangerous than downtown Los Angeles?.

    It all depends on the exact region of the city you are heading. Get yourself informed on the safest locations to go in that city.

    About 200,000 people a day cross the border near San Diego- both ways, for work and tourism. As long as you don't interact with drug dealers, you'll be fine. But there's not much reason to visit there. The central region of Mexico, with colonial cities like Puebla, is far more interesting, as are cities like Guadalajara.

    Although several American's have been killed by the Mexican cartel in TJ and the surrounding area in recent years, most American's travel without incident.

    Yes, it is more dangerous than DTLA, which isn't very dangerous at all.

    There is not much to do in TJ if you don't want to go to dive bars.
