Hi, this is a dumb question but I’m just concerned. Does the expiration date on these frozen nuggets say Jan-17-2020 or Jan 2016 or 2017?

Not to fret, if they are Frozen they will last indefinitely.

Those are usually Sell By dates or Guaranteed Freshness Dates.

Sell by is for the vendor, to remove from sale.

Guaranteed Freshness Date, means after that date the MFG will not accept a claim for does not taste right.

Food doesn't “expire” - there is no “expiration date”.

I would take the use by (or, as they say, enjoy by) date to be 17th January 2020. “20” is an abbreviation of “2020”.

Since they're frozen though, it hardly matters.

No matter what it says - this is NOT and expiration date! It is a best by date meaning it is good for years after this date if kept frozen but if you don't like the product AFTER the date then the company has no reason to compensate you for not liking their product.

January 17, 2020. I know it's a little ambiguous the way 17 and 20 are placed, but "16" is clearly part of "1651pm", a time of day.
