What airport? What airline? Give us some information so we can help you. Airports work in one of two ways. For most in the US, terminals are assigned to particular airlines. As you drive up to the airport, you will see signs saying something like Terminal 1, Delta, United, Southwest. Terminal 2, American, JetBlue. You go to the terminal for your airline. In larger airports and many airports in other countries, there's one main entry point. There are large screens over head with the airline and flight number are listed, and at a certain point before the flight, the check in number will go up. So it might say DL 2345 16. If that's your flight you go to the desk numbered 16 and check in. They will tell you your gate number. You go through security and look for the overhead signs to find your gate. Sometimes it's a very long walk because the airport isn't divided into separate terminals with separate check in points.
