If you are on the pill, there was NO REASON to test unless you don't get your period.

When you are on the pill, you test on the day you would start a new pack if you DID NOT get your period. If the test is negative, you would start the new pack even if you didn't get the period.

It can take up to 21 days after sex for a pregnancy test to be accurate if you ovulated five days after sex while sperm was still alive inside you. A pregnancy test is accurate 14 days after conception BUT conception can happen up to 5 days after sex because sperm can live inside you for up to about 5 days and wait for the egg.

BUT - you are on birth control which means YOU DO NOT OVULATE - so you never have an egg for the sperm to fertilize.

Home pregnancy tests have a high rate of accuracy, but it also depends on the particular test you took. Some tests can detect the hCG hormone earlier than others. The pill is over 99% effective at preventing pregnancy, so if you have been taking it as directed, why are you so panicked?
