I found a basset hound puppy in the forest, caught in one of my bear traps. Should I release him back into the wild or keep it?

You could use it as bear bait

Release him (or it, you can't seem to decide) into the Wild.

He can't survive in the wild. Either keep him or find him a new home.

No...just shoot YOURSELF in the head...or put your HEAD into a bear trap....that will be a long and painful death.

Take it to the vet, and then either you should or maybe the vet will place him in a shelter. Though if it were me I’d take it to the vet and keep it

Sure. Go ahead and release the puppy with one leg tore off. Or just leave him there.

Keep it, but try to find the owner first.
