That all depends on what you want but a minimum for a westerner is 30,000 baht

It depends how well you want to live and where, really.

It is possible to find pretty decent accommodation for about 25,000 baht/month somewhere like Chon Buri or Pattaya, or for somewhat more in Bangkok or Phuket.

If you don't go to high end restaurants or drink much booze, you could get by reasonably well on 500-1000 baht/day. You could of course spend a lot more if you put your mind to it.

Leisure pursuits could get quite expensive depending on how often you want to pursue them. For example, a typical day's golfing would cost about 1000-1500 baht for green fees plus drinks and tips for the caddies (300 baht each usually). Plus a taxi to and from the course, obviously, probably another 1000 or so baht all in each way.

I know an ex-pat who lives in a rented apartment in a reasonably high-end condo in Pattaya. His overall living costs are about 100,000 baht per month but he plays golf three times a week and is out socialising for at least a while most evenings.

Where in Thailand? Live like a begpacker or a decent traveler? Eating at restaurants or at street vendors? Visiting all the tourist traps or just relaxing? Not enough information provided to give an educated answer.

$1,200 a month in clear income is about bottom line for most expats. That is a 1 room apartment not to modern, basic food,& such. Do not forget start up cost once there. & inflation long term. Thailand is starting to deport expats that don't quit have enough for a simple life there. So don't plan on spending your days sleeping on a park bench.

Your question lacks a lot of information to give you an informed answer. How you plan to live, i.e. room with a fan and no hot water, to a villa with a pool. Western food or Thai food? Means of transportation i.e.a/c bus, air bus, tuk tuk, taxi, van? You plan to do a lot of drinking and chasing women forget it you couldn't afford it and they may call you handsome but they still want money. Also, don't fall in love it will cost you more and she has 5 other guys she also seeing.

Lets say $50 a day on the cheap side and have money in your bank and an ATM card if you need more money to withdraw.

You could easily find work as an actor or extra in countries like Thailand.

Well that depends on what your planning to do(or who your planning to do), thailand is a relatively cheap place to live so live it up, just be careful not to flash the cash too much, and dont tell anybody you meet how much you earn or have bought with you
