Is it true that the best gift is a cat?

    Only the best gift if your intention is to give someone an animal that will destroy it's house with the smell of cat piss.

    Wrong. Pets should never be given as gifts. But if you mean it in the colloquial sense, yes, I feel my cat(s) is(are) a gift(gifts).

    No living animal should ever be given as a gift. If the person wants a pet, then offering to sponsor the adoption fee and allowing the person to select their own cat/dog, is a nice gift.

    Live animals are not what could be considered good or thoughtful gifts unless the recipient is known to be wanting one. Although the intention may be good, you are also giving the responsibility and expense of feeding and caring for the animal.
