Why is my 2004 Jeep Wrangler making a grinding noise when I start it?

I bought a Jeep about a month and I really love it. But just in the last few days I noticed when I turn the key the engine sounds like something is grinding. It makes a harsh sound. After the jeep is started it runs totally fine. What is the issue? Thanks!

Bad starter. Replace it before you ruin the flywheel and have to replace the flywheel too!

flywheel ring gear and starter bendix

have a professional check it out

could be that the starter is about to fall off the engine

Try asking a mechanic instead of some random online armchair experts. Even if you supply a massive amount of info in complete contrast to the minimal vague content you posted, nobody would be able to tell for sure over the internet.
