How come people always want to give you their input on how you should live your life but won't give you actual help?

Example: "You're a bum, Go get a job man!" But won't give recommendations, suggestions, networking, etc. A lot of people I have seen do this to each other

Context matters. If you are panhandling, you may get a lot of "get a job!" suggestions. Your family, friends, church, or community should have actual help for you. If you're looking to learn how to fish, that's the right path; if you're looking for a free fish, that's the wrong path.
