When are some people going to understand there is no such thing as “normal”?
This stupid word was created by control freaks who brainwashed others into saying “normal” which is a delusion. Mind controlling people exist in this world unfortunately and there are people who get bullied by them psychologically making them use words that make no sense that are meaningless and pointless. There are other words to use such as average, medium and natural which make sense.

I agree. There is no such thing as normal.
As Charles Addams said, “Normal is an illusion. What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.”
From my understanding, to the spider, making spider webs is just something it does. It's in its own nature and biology. To the fly, the web that the spider makes prevents it from what it does: fly. And subsequently is the end of its life.
I'm glad there are people like you who see this disgusting lie called "normal" for what it is. It's too bad many people believe in normal and as such no one can really be happy.
People are so brainwashed to the point where they are born into "normal" and they pass "normal" down to their children when in fact "normal" could just be one person's ideals or a group of peoples' ideals on what life should be like and everyone follows without question because they've been doing it for so long.

There is a normal. If most people do one thing that thing is a normal person thing. Normal people don't steal, rape, or hurt people. Most people don't like pickles on their pancakes. It's normal to eat pancakes with syrup, butter, jam, powdered sugar (not all at once) but if you put pickles on them, you're bot normal

If psychiatristy couldn’t arbitrarily create a standard for “normal” mental health, psychiatrists would have to get real jobs. Too much $$$ to be made by them and their Big Pharma partners in destroying people with lobotomies-in-a-pill, ECT, etc. Psychiatrist Thomas Szasz (sp?) wrote a book called “ the myth of mental illness”. It’s based on politics, money, etc. One scenario: An image/ ‘success’-driven narcissistic family takes a family member that can’t live up to their image or refuses to, enlisting the help of psychiatry to label that family member “mentally ill”. To discredit/invalidate them. The shrink lobotomizes that person with Big Pharma psych drugs, officially labels them “mentally ill” even if they know it’s not the case, because narcissistic parents pay them to. Scapegoated family member’s life is forever ruined if they’re ‘fortunate’ enough not to kill themselves in reaction to neurological damage. ‘Gaslighting’’ accomplished. A newly-minted “mental patient” for life. $$$

No, normal is a valid concept - like an adult heartbeat between 60 and 100 for example. Same thing in psychology.

People think it's not "normal" to be alone! They think being needy and dependant on others is normal!

The issue is in the sense of a subjective or objective average. Think about looking for roommates or a date. What you are doing is looking for people who at the least, wont piss you off. Within a house, a city, a country, whatever; "normal" is denoted as the average set of behaviors and customs.
In the USA, we drive to work in jeans and a button up shirt. We listen to Steely Dan and watch Honey Boo-Boo, talk about the weather and have fat wives who go to Starbucks. Then this guy in a robe with a towel on his head bows in the afternoon and wont eat till sundown. Is he a nutcase freak or just Muslim?

There more certainly is normal. Normal means typical, not an outlier (as the previous poster said within two standard deviations AKA in the 95th percentile). It is not a matter of perception, it is a matter of statistics.

Being normal is just in our mind.

Just FYI, tossing around words like "control freaks", "brainwashed", and "mind controlled" to explain why "normal" is bad, is a good sign you're delusional.

One workable hard definition of normal, that would align with common usage, could be
Normal = "within two standard deviations from the average"
