I know that it can be an uncomfortable discussion as some view it as a sign of failing manhood. An assumption that is far too often made. But it is commonly a symptom of an underlying condition. A good place to start is with your primary care provider to rule out certain serious conditions.

It can vary slightly based on overall health and other medical issues.

But, diabetes can do damage to blood vessels and nerves and since the penis relies on good blood flow for achieving stiffness that damage can affect the ability to become fully erect. Basically, erectile dysfunction is a possible issue for someone with diabetes.

Diabetes might also affect sperm quality.
