How do I turn down flame on bic lighter?

    They don't have a mechanism that will allow you to do that anymore. they used to, many years ago. What you get is what you get, and it is a function of the internal pressure of the gas in the reservoir and the size of the outlet (and partially the nozzle shape although that is usually not a major contributor).

    I suppose if you were to cool down the lighter, it would reduce the pressure of the gas phase inside and thus make the flame shoot less strongly.

    The BIC lighters I use are not adjustable. You need to use another brand of lighter (like Scripto) to get that feature.
