Custom shower stall floor? We are planning to build a 4X5 custom shower, all tile. What exactly do you do with the shower floor though,?

You have several options, depending upon how fancy you want to get. Right now natural stone is trendy.

you can get pre made shower pans. then install the tile on that.

Either get a ready made shower tray or floor former, or decide what drain unit you want and form in slight slopes to that before tiling, so water runs to it from any direction.

    eg.

You can get them with metal or glass tops, or with recesses so you can fit matching tile inserts.

ps. Make sure you use porcelain tile for the floor, if you tile it - it's much tougher than basic ceramic, just about indestructible.

You find a PROFESSIONAL builder who knows what he is doing and hire him to do the work.
