What is the point of trying to save money if I'm never going to be able to work enough to afford things to save for?

Life is about stepping stones. Save what you can as you go along. Maybe it's for something nice. Maybe it's for in case there is an emergency. Maybe you use it to get skills and a new job which pays more. Once you do that, then you're able to save quicker and build quicker to something you want to buy. Continue to save. Continue to increase your salary.

Because you will wake up tomorrow and be in the same situation unless you do something about it...

Don't. Spend all your money on things that other people, who are trying to actually save money, are making to sell...so they can take that money and save it.

Because living beneath your means is smart and not doing it is dumb.

Most of us don't give up like 6 year olds. They look at the problem and work to increase their pay with job changes.

If you are working at a job that will not give you more hours to work you are always free to look for one that will.
