oil exports accounted for nearly all of the revenue of the Venezuelan government.
When international crude oil prices dropped from $129 per barrel to under $50 a barrel Chavez increased spending on social programs to over 50% of GDP.
No one was going to tell Chavez the government couldn’t afford things like MEDICARE FOR ALL, FREE COLLEGE, AND THE GREEN NEW DEAL
Chavez’s socialist policies, identical to that of AOC destroyed that country.
Inflation is so high that people are using money for arts and crafts.
Given power the Democrats will do the exact same thing here,
