My beard grows only in one side, why?

My guess has always been that it's caused by the side I sleep. I always sleep with the right side of my face touching the pillow, and that's the side where hair doesn't grow. However, many people do the same and don't have this problem, which makes me think maybe it's either genetic or due to a disease.

Actually that isnt uncommon, If you're young it can take time to grow a full beard. If you're older there are any number of reasons why hair might grow differently on the two sides of your face, ranging from different circulation, to hormonal imbalances, etc. A dermatologist could examine you and give you a more certain answer.

It might be because the other side where the beard grows might had been shaved more properly that is why.

My barber said the same thing about sleeping on that side.
