Why don't Europeans create their own Amazon, Alibaba, or Ebay, rather than accusing Amazon of being a monopoly?

Some countries did. The one based out of Germany folded last year.

And there you are. They ***** about it rather than create some competition. Bottom line, the Europeans are still jealous of the US and all its innovative concepts that still come out of our people.

US Companies are already pulling tons of money out of Europe...let them take a little back here and there...no biggie.

Creating your own profitable business based on new technology is hard. Easier to let someone else do it and then extort money from them.

Because monopolies are not created by choice. They are created by greed, avarice and a ruthless dedication to beating the competition.

Unelected EU supra-national regulators have gone absolutely nuts in their restraints on trade. Most items available on amazon are available elsewhere! That's hardly a "monopoly." Independent sellers have incredible access to the market through Amazon, and most sell through additional outlets. That's hardly a "monopoly."

EU is raiding major companies, higher-income & "wealthier" individuals for money. It is nothing but a money-grab by deranged governmental flunkies. Yet they do nothing to stop the invasion of illegal aliens, criminal illegal aliens, or actually protect citizens & legal residents of EU-member countries. Supra-national govt, organizations, do nothing but add vast amounts of cost burdens, and it leads to massive money-grabs wherever they think they might find some moolah & get their hands on it.

I know right?! when's the last time something innovative came out of Europe, especially since they created the "EU". America's innovative and imaginative nature that has made it great. and let's not forget capitalism which made it rich and prosperous. Socialism doesn't cultivate that, and that's why it's a failure.

Western Europe is fairly competitive in the pharmaceutical industry. That's about it.

The whole point of monopolies is that they create barriers to entry. Amazon sells a billion SKUs. A start-up just can't compete.

If that were true, then Amazon could never have been successful. I remember when all Amazon sold were books, and they did it by being cheaper than the large bookstore chains who owned the market.
