Why am I having nightmares every night? Is this caused by undiagnosed PTSD?

I DO plan on talking to my doctor about this, however I just can’t put my finger on it. I have a nightmare every night, and some cause me to wake up crying and or shaking. Most of them are about one of my family members dying. This has been happening ever since my grandma died a few years ago, yet I just never had the time to bring it up to my parents (I’m 15). At least once or twice a week, I’ll end up having a night terror, which is a nightmare but 10x worse. Is this causes by undiagnosed PTSD from a death in the family because I was REALLY close to my grandma?

nightmares that recur with such frequency may have an organic cause.

by all means, discuss this with your doctor. he or she will have better insight than anyone on an internet Q&A forum.

Could be caused by mental illness
