it tastes like nirvana to a good German girl like me!.

Its pickled cabbage so there is a cabbage flavor to it and the pickled part.

I have been eating it for all my 66 years and love it.

Some like it some don't - I love it - cheap enough to buy a can or bag and give it a try.

Or just order a reuben sandwich, it will have saurkraut

Absolutely foul. However, many people love it.

the fermented kind doesn't include vinegar and is a whole different flavor.

It's chopped cabbage pickled in vinegar.

A sharp flavour from the vinegar plus slightly crunchy cabbage strips.

I occasionally have it as a low calorie accompaniment to a microwave curry, rather than rice or naan bread; they go well together.
