Why is it that yucca trees resemble palm trees but are not considered as palms?

    Different phylum, and palm"trees" are more like tall bushes, anyway, like banana "trees". If you want to learn more, look up "convergent evolution", which explains that while sharks are fish and dolphins are mammals, they have basically the same shape, because they both live in water.
