Do caregivers burp their patients?

Just a mini argument some friends and I are having. We’re curious, do caregivers ever have to pat the people they’re taking care of on the back to help them burp like parents do with their babies?

    "Do caregivers burp their patients?"

No, but they do chest PT (physical therapy) on elderly patients to help them break up secretions/fluid collections so they can cough them up and out.
