Is the background check that regular people can buy from internet websites any different than the ones that companies do for employment?

    That all depends on how much an employer feels like spending to look into your background. If they only feel like spending enough to pay someone to buy the background check off an internet website, it won't be any different at all.

    There are services that do background checks that cost a whole lot more than the internet websites, so it seems logical to assume that if those more expensive services exist, they're offering a better background report than what the basic internet websites are selling.
